About Sallie McKibben, LAc

Picture
Sallie McKibben is a licensed acupuncturist (LAc) and Chinese herbalist, specializing in motor vehicle accidents, injuries & pain conditions, chronic illness and anxiety disorders.  By utilizing acupuncture therapies (needling, moxabustion, cupping, gua sha, Chinese herbs, Shiatsu massage, diet therapy, and lifestyle counseling), she greatly enjoys discovering all the contributing factors to your ailments while reducing pain and promoting healing.

Since 2014, Sallie has worked collaboratively with primary care physicians, medical specialists, chiropractors, and massage therapists on extremely complex cases.  Working at renowned Dr. Satya Ambrose's integrative medicine clinic for five years brought Sallie into the cutting edge of holistic care, utilizing the best of conventional and alternative medicine.  Her approach to acupuncture is both exact and gentle, meeting the patient where they are at.

Sallie McKibben served as a supervisor at the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) medicinary from 2013 until 2018, teaching students in the medicinary for three years.  Currently, Sallie is taking a break from faculty duties to focus on her practice at Belmont Acupuncture, but plans to return to teaching in the future as she is a passionate educator.

As an accredited Diplomat of Oriental Medicine (Dipl. O.M.), Sallie McKibben is certified in acupuncture, bodywork, and Chinese herbal medicine by the National Certification Committee of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).  Not all acupuncturists in the state of Oregon have completed the national board exam for Chinese herbology in addition to the three required board exams (Acupuncture, Biomedicine, Foundations of Oriental Medicine), due to the complexity of the subject.  This designation, as well as ongoing study and research, are important qualifications for the prescribing of Chinese herbs.

While addressing all contributing factors for illnesses, Sallie McKibben also likes to address the secret key to healing: passion and joy. Sallie loves helping her patients reconnect to their own natural and innate healing power, finding beauty within themselves, all while connecting metaphysical experiences to modern research and the mechanisms behind them.

Sallie McKibben strives for sustainable practices at home, work, and in the community. Having grown up in the woods of Missouri, the outdoors are an inseparable part of her identity, and she takes great responsibility in helping to preserve and care for our Earth.  However, life is short, and she may just as easily be found wearing silly costumes, building forts with her son, or just generally enjoying her time on this Earth.

What Our Clients Are Saying

"Sallie is one of my favorite acupuncturists.  She is gentle, warm-hearted, sensitive and caring.  She listens to what I say and I know she cares.  I began seeing Sallie about a year ago, when I had undergone surgery that had left me with trauma and pain.  Her treatments were excellent and I felt much better after each treatment.  With all my conditions, we have worked on each problem one at a time, and I have found so much relief.  I absolutely recommend Sallie McKibben."
