RESOURCES:
blackacupuncturist.com - a database to find black acupuncturists in your area.
Black Pearl Acupuncture - a culturally responsive clinic by Sita Symonette, LAc. For the past decade, her practice has been, as listed on her website: "a safe place for Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Latinx people and LGBTQIA community to receive high quality healthcare."
NAYA Family Center - also provides acupuncture in addition to many other services. As an urban Indian agency, the NAYA was center started by parent and Elder volunteers in 1974 to serve Native Americans in the Portland metro area, serving 10,000 individuals from over 380 tribal backgrounds annually.
NARA Northwest - providing primary care, women's healthcare , acupuncture, and detox healthcare service for anyone in need, with a focus on being culturally responsive especially for Native Americans and Alaskan Natives.
Dr. Robert Kaneko, LAc - one of my favorite supervisors from when I was an intern! Dr. Kaneko is a highly skilled acupuncturist, empathetic, kind, and just wonderful to work with (and accepts most insurance).
Dr. Hong Jin, LAc- one of my favorite teachers, Dr. Jin specializes in pediatrics and women's health, but would be highly beneficial to anyone seeking her expertise.
Dr. GaoHui Liu, LAc- Dr. Liu is a master of Chinese medicine. I refer my most difficult-to-treat patients to him, though he definitely uses a very strong and forceful type of acupuncture! His herbal mastery makes him a go-to for extreme cases that I do not feel comfortable prescribing for.
Ellie Legare, LAc- After 25 years as a midwife (and teacher of midwifery), Ellie now provides excellent, comfortable acupuncture, with expertise in helping during prenatal, induction, and postpartum care. Her ability to help moms and families through pregnancy, including tremendous care, skill, and tact to help with all the postpartum challenges, including exhaustion, difficulties with breastfeeding, postpartum depression, and processing birth trauma. She will work with your midwife or doctor, and will be a great ally for your journey. Ellie also proudly provides a safe space and exemplary healthcare for the LGTBQIA community.
Dr. Kat Lopez, MD- located North of Lloyd Center. Excellent primary and specialist care from a brilliant doctor who will spend a full hour getting to know you and helping to make a plan for you. To have unlimited access to Dr. Kat, she has a monthly membership of $100, no insurance needed. Affordable, accessible, excellent care.
Ashton Chiropractic- located next door to me! Excellent chiro and massage therapy. They accept most insurance.
Sunnyside Collaborative Care- located in Happy Valley. Excellent primary & specialist care. Every practitioner accepts different insurance, so ask before scheduling with any provider. Many accept CareOregon, including for chiro!
Golden Cabinet Herbs (SE Hawthorne)- located nearby! I can prescribe patents and granules through this dispensary, including Classical Pearls at an affordable price. Call 503-233-4102 to reach them. Prescriptions required.
Oregon College Oriental Medicine- call 503-253-3443, ext 155 to reach their medicinary. I can prescribe bulk herbs here (prescriptions are required). They are a teaching clinic, and close during most school breaks. Herbs can be picked up at main campus in Chinatown, or at their small Hollywood clinic, but tell them before paying where you want to pick up your formula!
